Now it’s official. Manchester City, England, announced on Friday morning the hiring of Kayky, jewel of the Fluminense 17 years old, as the ge anticipated in February. The tricolor striker, already called in Europe “Neymar left-handed”, will remain in the Tricolor until the end of the season, but from 2022 he will be a player of the famous Spanish coach Pep Guardiola for the next five seasons.

“We are happy to confirm that we have reached an agreement with Fluminense for the future transfer of Kayky. The young striker will remain in Fluminense until the end of the Brazilian season,” announced Manchester City.

Manchester City acquired 80% of the player’s economic rights for € 10 million fixed euros (R $ 66.5 million) plus bonuses of up to € 11 million (R $ 73.2 million): € 7 million of which are attainable at short / medium term and € 4 million in long-term goals. In addition, there is a purchase option clause for the remaining 20% of economic rights for an additional € 5 million. Adding it all up, Fluminense can receive up to € 26 million euros (R $ 173 million).

Currently a member of Roger Machado’s team, Kayky was sold before he started playing professionally, when he received offers from Manchester City and Shakhtar Donetsk, from Ukraine. He moved up to the main squad at the beginning of the Carioca Championship and has 10 games, four as a starter, the last one against River Plate, from Argentina, when he became the club’s newest player in the Libertadores. He also scored two goals, a great goal against Nova Iguaçu (see the video above).
