With two matches to go in Group G, Manchester City has secured a place in the knockout stages of the Champions League. Coach Pep Guardiola’s team won 3-0 at home against Young Boys from Switzerland. RB Leipzig has also advanced to the eighth finals, after a 1-2 win over Red Star Belgrade.
Unbeaten streak of 28 matches
Manchester City last lost a home game in the Champions League five years ago. In September 2018, Olympique Lyon left the Etihad stadium with a 2-1 win. Since then, the English club has gone on an unbeaten run that has now lasted 28 games.
Erling Haaland gave the home team the lead through a converted penalty. With this, Young Boys conceded a goal for the sixteenth Champions League match in a row. Just before half time, Phil Foden scored for the 2-0. After the break, Haaland scored the third goal of the evening with a long shot.

Leipzig took the lead against Red Star through a nice goal by Xavi Simons. The Dutch international did not let himself be deterred from the ball and shot with a thoughtful curl into the far corner.
The fact that Leipzig only had a one-goal margin at halftime was against the odds. Leipzig had a number of big chances, but lacked the effectiveness to further distance themselves from the Serbians, who have not yet won a game this Champions League campaign.
In the second half Leipzig managed to score again. Loïs Openda, the former Belgian player of Vitesse, made the 0-2. An own goal by Leipzig defender Benjamin Henrichs brought Red Star back into the match a few minutes later.
Milan wins with Reijnders in the starting line-up
In group F, AC Milan won 2-1 against the star ensemble of Paris Saint-Germain in San Siro.
PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma faced the scorn of the home crowd throughout the match. The AC Milan youth player left for Paris on a free transfer two years ago, and Milan’s supporters had not forgotten it.
It was extra painful that a former player of arch-rival Internazionale – with the appropriate name Milan Skriniar – headed in the 0-1 within ten minutes after a headed corner.
AC Milan – with Dutch international Tijjani Reijnders as always in the starting line-up – has not been doing well in recent weeks, but the early deficit did not put any extra tension on the legs.

Moments later, Rafael Leão equalized with a bicycle kick from the rebound. The first fifteen minutes could only be described as a feast of opportunities. Within half an hour, Ousmane Dembélé also hit the crossbar with a beautiful shot, and in the counterattack Olivier Giroud shot into the side netting.
The same strong Frenchman made the surprising 2-1 against his compatriots five minutes after half-time, of course with a rock-hard header. Despite the lead, it was the Italians who came closest to scoring, with the disappointing PSG only hitting the post via Lee Kang-In.

In the same group F, Borussia Dortmund won 2-0 at home against Newcastle United earlier in the evening. The Germans, who won 1-0 in Newcastle two weeks ago, took the lead within half an hour. After a messy attack, late bloomer Niclas Füllkrug scored his first Champions League goal.
Pro ShotsGold nuggets on the field in Dortmund
The match was briefly halted early in the second half after Dortmund fans threw fake gold bars and fake money onto the field. Reportedly in protest against UEFA and the commercialization of football.
The home team players didn’t care and even made it 2-0 through Julian Brandt ten minutes before the end after a counter.
