Manchester City Agrees to Transfer Jeremy Doku from Rennes – Latest News and Updates

Manchester

Manchester City reportedly has agreed to a transfer Jeremy Doku with Rennes. The transaction value is around 55.5 million pounds or around IDR 1.08 trillion.

The transfer news was reported by British media such as The Athletic and Sky Sports. Doku is projected to replace Riyad Mahrez who moved to the Saudi Arabian League this summer.

The 21-year-old winger’s move is expected to be finalized this week as well, with a personal agreement basically already established. Next, Doku will carry out medical tests before signing a long-term contract.

At first, Man City chased West Ham United midfielder Lucas Paqueta. However, the negotiations stalled due to an investigation into the gambling case by the English Football Association (FA) and the International Football Federation (FIFA).

The plan is for Paqueta to be an option in midfield, with Bernardo Silva shifted to fill in on the right wing left by Mahrez. However, with the recruitment of Doku, Bernardo is expected to continue to play in a central position considering that Kevin de Bruyne is also injured.

Doku has played twice in the French League this season, scoring one goal. Last season, the Belgium international made 35 appearances in all competitions with a score of seven goals and four assists.
