Popular casinos are not only in the center of the city, but have also spread to peripheral sectors where they operate without permits.
One of them was once again intervened by the Public Security Directorate after, after patrolling, it was found that it was continuing operations despite the fact that it was prohibited from doing so.
The director of Public Security, Alejandra Martínez, reported that in the procedure carried out in the eastern sector of the city, there was a detainee for breaking the seal, in accordance with what is established by current legal regulations.
The professional stressed that “through an alert issued by Municipal Inspectors, a mixed patrol attends Avenida Nueva Oriente in order to verify the seal-breaking procedure (art. 270 penal code).”
In the place, he added, “a person in charge of a popular casino, located in the eastern sector, is taken into custody, who is transferred to the police facility, also informing the Prosecutor on duty.”
The professional added that “regularly Public Security makes this type of field visits in order to comply with current regulations that do not allow the operation of these establishments.”
In this sense, he pointed out that “Security must enforce the laws and in this case there is also a breaking of seals, which is an action that the Prosecutor’s Office must investigate.”
