Coach Ten Haag wants his players to show confidence and challenge themselves to elicit positive support from the Old Trafford crowd.

Eric, a lot has been said about the players over the last few days. What kind of reaction did you see at the training ground?

“Of course I had a day of training after coming back from Newcastle. We had a tough week last week, playing three games in six days. I took a day off and started training again today. Yes, the last game wasn’t what we wanted so we have to fix that. Because you have experienced setbacks, you need to show resilience. “We need to be resilient and get back to the same level against Galatasaray and Everton.”

How is the squad situation? Are there any changes to the squad or any updates on players looking to return, including Mason Mount, Jonny Evans, Ahmad and Christian Eriksen?
“There is some positive news, but he is not back in the team yet.”

Other than that, is it the same team as the Newcastle game?
“To some extent, yes.”

You mentioned in the last two games that each player’s workout needs to be taken into consideration. Does this factor into player selection more heavily in a busy month like this?

“Yes, but I think you have a choice because you can choose your team. Players always have to prove themselves. It’s not that there are no players. “I think we can select strong players every time.”

Chelsea’s recent performance has been mixed. How do you evaluate it?
“You can see they are a very good team. We have to play very good defense against those teams because we are very comfortable in possession. We have to do our best in defense, but we want to make it our game by controlling possession and making it difficult. But as I said in this answer, we know we have to do our best. “As I always say when asked this question, it’s not who we are talking about, it’s who we are and how we treat ourselves.”

“Yes, but that’s history. We have to think about the future and I think a match between Manchester United and Chelsea is always a good match. “These are two teams with a great history, but what’s important is the future.”

“You have to have confidence. We need to show belief from the start, act as a team and execute our plan on the pitch. Determination, conviction and desire are important.”

“The result is always the most important thing, no matter what. Football is about results. In top soccer, results are always important. In the end, results are important, but you and I know that good performance is necessary to lay the foundation for getting the right results.”
