Jorge Sampaoli has admitted that it is a “possibility” that Florian Thauvin may leave Marseille after Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United expressed interest, in quotes provided by Tuttomercatoweb.
Sampaoli has been reported to have been desperate for some time to get the World Cup winning winger to compromise his future with the Ligue 1 giants.
However, with Thauvin out of a contract in a matter of weeks, replacement Andre Villas-Boas appears to be fighting a losing battle.

On Thursday, L’Equipe reported that West Ham had made known its interest in a player who has recovered impressively from a miserable spell at Newcastle United.
Crystal Palace and Leicester City have also held talks with Thauvin, while Tottenham has identified the left-handed right-back as a possible replacement for Gareth Bale in North London (Sports Stadium in March).
And Sampaoli has broken his silence for the first time, admitting that Thauvin may be about to say goodbye to the Stade Velodrome.
“I spoke with Florian today. He told me about this possibility (that he could go). It is up to him to talk about his future and say if he will choose this option ”, explains the former Argentina, Chile and Seville coach.

“He is a player we count on a lot, he is a pillar of this team. He knows it too, but there are things in football that coaches can’t control ”.
Thauvin certainly has unfinished business in the Premier League. After all, he didn’t live up to those high expectations at Newcastle.
But there seems to be a real possibility that the 28-year-old will practice his trade in a very different environment next season.
TMW claims that the Mexican team Tigres, six years after completing the surprising signing of their former Marseille teammate Andre-Pierre Gignac, has offered Thauvin a five-year contract worth £ 85,000 a week.
