Manager Eric ten Haag has said Marcus Rashford could return from a two-game absence to play against Chelsea at Old Trafford on Thursday evening.
Spotted training with other team-mates on Tuesday, Rashford is expected to get a chance to play in 33 Premier League games this season after a successful training session on Wednesday.
Having previously scored five goals against Chelsea, Marcus is just one goal away from becoming the first United player since Robin van Persie (2012/13) to score 30 goals in a season.
“Rashford, who returned to training yesterday, seems to be in pretty good shape, but we have to watch today’s training results.”
“We will make a decision after watching how much he recovers,” he said.
With Rashford back on form and Scott McTominay’s late return to the Vitality Stadium, United have built a strong squad to secure a place in next season’s Champions League.
Lisandro Martinez, Marcel Sabitzer and Donny van de Bake were out for the season with long-term injuries.
Chelsea can miss up to 10 players away from Old Trafford. Manager Frank Lampard will meet with the media on Wednesday at 13:30 (UK time) to talk about Chelsea’s second trip to Manchester, following Sunday’s 1-0 loss to Manchester City.
Centre-back Benoit Badiacil is set to be out due to needing groin surgery, while Marcus Bettinelli, Armando Broya, Reese James and N’Golo Kante are also likely to be out. Ben Chilwell, Marc Cucurella, Mateo Kovacic and Mason Mount are also in big question.
Kalidou Koulibaly returned from six weeks out with a hamstring injury, but João Felix was not on the standby list at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
