Management removes Lil Kleine’s profile from website, court hears appeal against release | showbiz

showbizThe profile of Lil Kleine can no longer be found on the website of his management Namam. This seems to give a signal that the collaboration with the rapper is over. However, a spokesperson said he could not provide any answers yet. Sony has also already stopped the collaboration, but it is not clear whether this is a final decision. On Monday, the chamber of the Amsterdam District Court will consider the appeal that the Public Prosecution Service has lodged against the release of Lil Kleine.

Some well-known Dutch headlines are featured on the website of the management agency Namam. Lil Kleine was also in that list, but his profile has since been removed. If you type in the artist name of Jorik Scholten, as the rapper is really called, in the search bar of their talent page, you will soon receive the message: ‘No talents found with this selection. Try another selection.’

Last week, the rapper’s management announced to consider continuing the collaboration with the rapper. By deleting Lil Kleine’s profile, it seems that a step has now been taken towards ending that collaboration. There is no confirmation for the time being. “At the moment I have no answers yet,” a spokesperson for the management agency told AD on Tuesday.

Sony Music already announced in a statement on Sunday evening “it will end the working relationship with Lil Kleine”. Although it is not clear for how long they want to stop this collaboration. “The statement does not state how long the relationship will be terminated and there is no mention of ‘termination of the working relationship,'” an insider in the music industry told AD. With this description, Sony Music keeps the option open to continue with the rapper after some time, when the fuss has subsided. Not surprising since Sony Music signed a contract with the rapper last year for the distribution of his music. For that deal, Lil Kleine received an advance of no less than 3 million euros. Sony Music can recoup that money in the future by promoting and distributing new music from the rapper. Lil Kleine’s most recent album ‘Ibiza Stories’ was released on his previous label Top Notch, Sony has no interest in it yet.

Arrested and released

Lil Kleine was arrested last weekend on suspicion of aggravated assault and/or assault, two days after he was sentenced by a judge to 120 hours of community service for kicking a man in a nightclub. Until last Wednesday, the rapper was in jail, but pending further investigation, it was decided that he could be released again. The Public Prosecution Service disagreed and appealed the decision. According to the Public Prosecution Service, there are sufficiently serious objections to detain him longer. The appeal will be heard behind closed doors on Monday. Lil Kleine is said to have clamped the head of his girlfriend Jaimie Vaes between a car door. She did not file a report.
