A man barricaded himself for several hours in a house in Minneapolis, United States, and carried out a live broadcast on negotiations with elements of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI for its acronym in English). The authorities they shot him to death after failing to convince him to surrender.
A federal affidavit, released last night, identified the slain man as Chue Feng Yang33, of St. Paul, who also went by the name Kevin, the newspaper reported. Star Tribune. Yang used Facebook to live stream and record several minutes of negotiations until he left the house with a woman clinging to him.
“After barricading themselves for several hours, the suspect was armed when he left the house,” the FBI said in a statement. “The man was killed and another person required medical attention.”
He criminal record Yang’s included convictions for terrorist threats, robbery, illegal possession of firearms and auto theft. He also had three outstanding felony warrants. Court records indicate that in one case, he and another person were charged with shoot a dog multiple times with a BB gun inside a stolen van, before abandoning the wounded animal.
In a separate case, Yang was charged with animal cruelty for throwing a pitbull puppy from a pickup truck at high speed during a police chase in January. The dog was injured and had to be euthanized.
An FBI affidavit detailed that the elements went to the house on Thursday morning to arrestar a Yang in connection with the theft of the car and submitted additional warrants for their arrest.
Agents could see that he was carrying a sawed-off shotgun, according to the affidavit, and Yang allegedly threatened to shoot him to anyone who came in. He also claimed that he would set off explosives if the officers tried to enter the home.
Yang broadcast live twice during the confrontation, where a woman occasionally appears with him. She was hospitalized for an apparent fentanyl overdoseaccording to the affidavit, and was in stable condition.
