The Royal Marechaussee, the Dutch border police, announced the arrest this afternoon via Twitter. A man was arrested for walking around Schiphol station with a cocked crossbow. According to the police, he created a threatening situation.
According to Dutch media, an employee of the Dutch Railways was able to knock the crossbow out of the man’s hands before the police arrived on the scene. The agents of the Marechaussee were able to overpower the man. He was handcuffed and taken away.
Who he is and why he walked around with a crossbow is still under investigation.
