But three years ago, Peter was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. The process went quickly; Peter has since forgotten that he married Lisa twelve years ago. But the feeling was always there, because recently he just proposed to his beloved one more time.

And so they gave a fantastic wedding that moved their friends and family to tears. Lisa, who of course still remembers everything: ‘He was always such a sweet, charming and caring man. It broke my heart when he suddenly forgot everything. Including our relationship. Then he would talk to me like I was a stranger, instead of his wife.”
An evening of watching TV turned into a new proposal. Lisa: “I cried about a series and he comforted me. And then suddenly he asked, “Shall we get married?” I called my kids and they thought it was a great idea.”

With the help of friends, family, and wedding planners who offered their services for free, they had their second dream wedding. Lisa: “Our past was gone. But now we just made new memories. I feel like the happiest woman in the world.”
