(CNN) — A new detail emerged in the story of a 50-year-old man who tried last week to pass a silicone arm through his at a covid-19 vaccine clinic in an attempt to obtain a vaccination certificate without actually inoculating himself, in northern Italy.
Turns out the man who tried to cheat is dentist.
The doctors association of the Italian city of Biella confirmed his occupation without giving further details.
“When we learned that he was a dentist registered in our local association, we felt deep indignation. All doctors and dentists have given a lot in these two years of pandemic, serving the health needs of citizens with self-denial and a spirit of service, even putting in seriously jeopardize their very existence, “added the medical association.
What happened?
As mentioned, the man tried to pass a fake silicone arm at a covid-19 vaccination clinic as his own to get a certificate of vaccination without actually getting vaccinated.
The man was caught by nurse Filippa Bua when he was about to administer the vaccine in Biella, Piedmont.
Bua told CNN that he noticed something “abnormal” on the 50-year-old’s arm.
“The skin color was abnormal, much lighter compared to the patient’s hands or face,” he said.
After inspecting the area, he realized that the arm was a fake, made of silicone.
“First I felt sorry for the man, I thought he had a prosthesis and I wondered if I had somehow forced him to give me the wrong arm,” Bua said. “But then he admitted that he was using the fake arm on purpose to avoid getting the vaccine!”
