The police arrested Sahrudin (44), the perpetrator severe abuse against Siri’s wife, in Banyuasin, South Sumatra. When arrested, the police found a knife at the waist of the suspect, which he allegedly intended to use against officers.
“We have arrested the perpetrators of severe abuse against his wife in the Betung area,” said Ikang when confirmed by AFP on Sunday (6/6/2021).
The perpetrator, he said, had put up a fight when officers were about to take him into custody yesterday at his residence in Taja Mulya Village, Betung, Banyuasin. However, his efforts were thwarted by officers and he was eventually arrested.
“Indeed, yesterday the perpetrator had resisted but the members could handle it, we immediately brought the perpetrators for further investigation,” he said.
He said his party found a sharp knife type weapon on the perpetrator’s waist during inspection. The knife was intended to be used by the perpetrators to fight the officers.
“We have also secured a knife that the perpetrator tucked into his waist. We are currently investigating the perpetrators intensively,” he said.
Previously, a woman with the initials RN (44), reported her husband, SH (44), to the police. RN admitted that he was tortured and forced to drink urine.
“The victim was accused of cheating. From there, the persecution started from 21.00 to 05.00 WIB. It happened at the victim’s house,” said Banyuasin Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Ikang Ade to detikcom, Saturday (5/6/2021).
Ikang explained that the torture was experienced by RN on Tuesday (1/6) in Taja Mulya Village, Betung, Banyuasin. The victim finally escaped from her husband by running away.
“The victim was beaten, put cigarette flames on his face, put a mortar on the victim’s genitals, until he was told to drink urine. The victim was told to confess and finally cut his hair off,” said Ikang.
