Man Wanted for Arson Starter in Hate Crime Attack on Manhattan Synagogue – NBC New York

The late-night arson suspect fled after setting fire to a book and piece of cloth and throwing them out the front door of a Manhattan synagogue, New York City Police said.

The incident is now under investigation as a hate crime, authorities said Friday. The incident occurred around 1:30 am the day before at the Brotherhood Synagogue on Gramercy Park South.

Video of the suspect was released over the weekend.

In the video, a person is seen walking down a sidewalk dressed in black, with a green bag and a white hat.

A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered.
