Manchester United will compete with Arsenal to sign Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer.

The 24-year-old has been repeatedly linked with a move away from King Power in recent seasons. And with just one year remaining on his contract, Tielemans’ future at Leicester remains uncertain despite the fact that he is one of the team’s most important players.

Top-four chasers Arsenal have been eyeing the Belgian central midfielder, with Mikel Arteta interested in adding quality to their midfield. But according to CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs, rivals United have now also entered the fray in a bid to get him signed.

Both United and Arsenal are understood to be looking to sign Tielemans for a fee of £25m. The Leicester star’s tag price has dropped sharply from the £60m previously demanded by the Foxes.

Premier League sides West Ham and Liverpool have also shown interest in the past but are prioritizing other positions.

Tielemans has been vocal about his future for the past year, refusing to rule anything out. He recently expressed an interest in playing for a Champions League team.

Do you think Arsenal and Man United can tempt Tielemans into joining if they fail to break into the top four? Let us know in the comments section.

“We’ll see what happens next summer, or the summer after that.”
