Kane turns 30 in July – and has achieved his ambition to become Spurs’ all-time top scorer.
While United were hammered 7-0 at Anfield on Sunday, there’s still a belief Kane has a better chance of finally lifting a trophy at Old Trafford than at Tottenham.
The England captain’s £200,000-a-week deal has risen at the end of next season and the Champions League are failing to put suitors in a better position to negotiate a lower fee.
Kane said in January that a new deal “hasn’t been talked about much with Spurs” but he was “sure there will be talks in the coming months”.
Champions Manchester City are out of the running after failing to land the striker in 2021.
They have since signed Erling Haaland and the Norwegian has 27 prem goals in the Golden Boot race.
Kane has 18, with United’s Marcus Rashford on 14.

The Red Devils need another top scorer to propel them as title challengers next season.
Cristiano Ronaldo left in November and now his on-loan backup Wout Weghorst has just one goal from 14 appearances.
Spurs are currently fourth but lost 1-0 at Wolves on Saturday – while resurgent Liverpool are just three points behind with a game in hand.
