Manchester United make sure to break up with Paul Pogba once his contract expires on June 30 next.
Man Utd and Pogba put an end to a six-season togetherness in the player’s second spell at Old Trafford. In that time span, the performance of the French player was never really stable.
“Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Paul on his successful career and thank him for his contribution to Manchester United,” read a club statement.
“We wish him the best for his next step on this remarkable journey.”
Pogba was re-signed by Man Utd after having an impressive career in the Italian League with Juventus. The player who often changes hairstyles has become an important part of the Old Lady when they won four Scudetto in a row.
His scintillating form at Juventus paved the way for Pogba’s return to Man Utd in 2016 for a record fee of 105 million euros at the time. Pogba immediately became an important part of the Red Devils winning the Europa League title in his first season.
It’s just that Pogba’s consistent appearance can’t be done. On several occasions, the player who was picked up by Man Utd from Le Havre when he was still 16 was sitting on the bench watching his team-mates play.
The certainty of parting for the second time between Man Utd and Pogba also made the transfer market ahead of the start of the new season heating up. Juventus are rumored to be a club that is intensely approaching Pogba, as is Manchester City who are reportedly interested but are claimed to have been rejected by Pogba.
