A woman and her two young children were injured when a man threw a suspected corrosive substance at them in south London on Wednesday evening. The victims were taken to hospital.
Three other people also ended up in hospital as a result of the attack. They suffered injuries when they tried to help the woman and her children. Three police officers also suffered minor injuries.
It is probably an acid attack, police say. “Although tests are still being carried out to determine the substance involved, we believe at this stage it is a corrosive substance.”
No suspect has been arrested yet. “A man was seen fleeing,” reports the police, who are still investigating the cause of this “terrible incident”.
