A man from Utah who allegedly made threats against Joe Biden was shot and killed by FBI agents just hours before the president was due to land in the state.
Special agents had arrived at the man’s residence to arrest him when the shooting occurred at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday morning local time, the FBI said in a statement.
On Monday, the man posted on social media that he had heard that Biden was coming to Utah, and that he planned to find camouflage equipment and wipe the dust off an M24 sniper rifle.
The posts indicated that he owned a wide range of weapons, investigators said in a court document. He is also said to have previously made death threats against both Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on social media.
No further information has been released about what happened during the shooting.
