Any parent is ready to sacrifice their life to help their child. And this also applies to parents who are no longer in a relationship. A father, who separated from his son’s mother in April 2021, gave him an amazing birthday present to thank her for being such a wonderful mother. Shaun Nyland is a TikTok star from England and he filmed the moment he announced to his ex, Cat Keenan, that his home loan was fully repaid.
Nyland and Keenan have been together for seven years and share a 3 year old son named Leo. They decided to go their separate ways after mutually agreeing that they would each be happier on their own and there was no animosity between them. Proof of this is the astounding gift Nyland gave Keenan on October 13, 2021, which marked his 31st birthday.
In the video, Keenan can be seen sitting as Nyland throws the keys to the house at him. She’s confused at first, and after Nyland explains that he called the bank and paid off his mortgage, Keenan still doesn’t believe him. He asked her to check her email for confirmation and after making that finding, she rushed over to give Nyland a huge hug.
Nyland said he was able to afford the move thanks to his rise in popularity on TikTok, which is now his full-time job. The father explained that since he had the money, he saw no reason not to provide a home for his son and Keenan.
Nyland also explained that when they were together the couple posted on TikTok as a team and he noticed that Keenan posted fewer videos after the breakup. He knew that meant she was making less money and Nyland didn’t want his ex-girlfriend to worry about putting a roof over their son’s head. Read on to learn more about this amazing dad.

In the video, Nyland explains to Keenan, “Well, it’s your birthday today and I want you to have the best birthday ever.”
The continue, “I know we’re not together anymore and you struggled to pay the mortgage every month, and I’m so proud of you, you are the best mom ever. So I did something, I called the bank, I paid the entire mortgage, this house is yours now. ”
After hearing these words, Keenan thought that Nyland was “teasing” her but he announced to him : “It’s not a joke, it’s all yours.” The mother was more than excited by the news and seemed emotional after the reality of it had leaked.
Nyland shared with Wales Online the reasons for the breakup of the couple. He said: “We were working 24/7 and getting on each other’s nerves. So we decided to take separate paths. ”
The father wanted to support his son and Keenan even though they were no longer dating. “I wanted to take this pressure off him,” he said. Explain. “If I’m able to do it, then why not. I wanted to keep a roof over her and Leo’s head and take the pressure off Cat. ”
The TikTok has been viewed nearly four million times, and Nyland has been asked why the video is so popular. “I think because it is heartwarming”, he said answered. “And nice and people like to watch that.” It is quite new. To me, that’s how co-parenting should be. I know not everyone has the capacity to do what I have done but the kids should come first. ”

The couple rose to fame in October 2019 when they decided to post some funny and comedic videos on TikTok. Previously working as a dog walker and business manager, the duo ended up making so much money from the social media platform that they were able to quit their jobs and do content full time. However, working with a significant other is not always a walk in the park; the two broke up because of the pressure in early 2021. Cat Keenan told Wales Online how social media’s living got more difficult once she parted ways with Nyland:
“When we were together, there was more work that happened to us. Going alone was a struggle. ”
A trace video was posted by Keenan in which Nyland expresses how grateful he is that she is the mother of his child:
“You gave me the best gift ever, you brought Leo into the world. I know you struggled, you told me again, you worked really hard, and it just makes sense to put a roof over your head and Leo’s. “
Although these two have decided to go their separate ways, they clearly have no animosity between them. Even at such a young age, the couple seemed to have mastered the core values of what co-parenting means and took the path to maturity in their relationship. Despite the presence of one of Keenan’s children from a previous relationship and not with Nyland, the latter nevertheless decided to help his ex and make sure that his child and the mother of his child were taken care of.
