Man stopped with cocaine in the body

The Bern canton police stopped a man at the riding school in Bern on Friday evening, November 12th, who was carrying packaged cocaine in his body.

On Friday, around 9.10 p.m., the Bern canton police officers noticed a man because of his behavior as part of their patrol activities on Neubrückstrasse in Bern. The police then decided to check the man, whereupon he fled to the inner courtyard of the riding school and then to a restaurant.

He could finally be stopped inside. During the arrest, the emergency services were harassed and verbally abused by several bystanders. In the course of further investigations by the police, it turned out that the 38-year-old was, among other things, staying illegally in Switzerland and was posted for arrest.

Furthermore, the suspicion arose that the man might be transporting drugs in the body. In the following days, a total of eleven finger stalls and bullets with a total of around 45 grams of cocaine were seized.

He is currently in custody and will have to answer to the judiciary.
