Man Stabbed Outside NYC Hotel Turned Asylum Seeker Shelter: Police Investigation Ongoing

A man was stabbed outside a New York City hotel that was converted into a shelter for asylum seekers.

The victim was involved in a dispute outside the Watson Hotel on W.57th Street when another individual stabbed him in the chest and forearmthe authorities reported.

He was taken privately to Mount Sinai West Hospital in stable condition, officials said. No arrests were made, while an investigation is ongoing..

A parking attendant who worked in the parking lot next to the hotel said that The two men were fighting before the crime. The victim, she said, started it all.

“The guy who was stabbed was the instigator,” said the assistant, named Cisco. The attacker was trying to avoid him, he said.

“He didn’t seem like he wanted to fight him,” she said of the perpetrator.

They both confronted the victim in question, who according to Cisco was shorter, lunged at the man, who immediately took him to the ground.. The victim’s wife began yelling at the taller man to get away from her husband.

The victim chased the suspect with a stick and, at some point, the taller subject pulled out a knife and stabbed him., said the witness. He explained that the perpetrator leaned against the wall for about 10 seconds before going to Tenth Avenue.
