Man stabbed in the historic center of Frankfurt

Frankfurt. The Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) officially opened its new aid station in Frankfurt on Saturday. According to the SBA, it was put into operation at the end of last year after a construction period of around two years. Due to the corona pandemic, it was initially not possible to inaugurate it. The ASB of the Frankfurt emergency service is called for around 28,500 operations a year and around 3,200 home emergency calls are also serviced.

Hessian Prime Minister Boris Rhein (CDU) had his blood pressure measured at the opening. He inspected a new large-capacity ambulance that was also presented. This is available for emergencies and major events, for example.

The aid station includes, among other things, ten-metre-long vehicle sheds and a fitness room. Additionally, after an assignment with infected patients, employees can enter the building through an airlock, wash up there, change into, and separate contaminated clothing.

“Especially in the event of major disasters, it is ideal that no supply infrastructure such as tents have to be installed,” explained ASB Frankfurt Managing Director Thomas Müller-Witte. “Injured and sick people can be treated or cured immediately.” (dpa)
