On Sunday, a few hours before the launch of the closing parade of the Fêtes du Roi de l’Oiseau, the police of Le Puy carried out a very rapid investigation, following traces of blood in the city centre.
They intervened at the request of the firefighters who had just taken charge of a man who had been stabbed in the calf on Rue Courrerie, very close to the Hôtel de Ville. The investigation began with a treasure hunt. The officers followed the traces of blood to the entrance of a building, then to the landing of the first floor where the tenant and a friend were in front of the door of an apartment. They let the police enter to see the presence of numerous traces of blood on the ground. While the two individuals had just been arrested, a third man arrived and introduced himself as the author of the stabbing. He was also arrested.
Disturbing disappearance: a 40-year-old man is wanted in Haute-Loire
According to initial evidence, the accused, who was drunk at the time of the incident and his arrest, did not provide any explanation for his actions, simply replying that he had no memory of them. These two friends were heard as witnesses. The 36-year-old man was released from custody on Monday. He will be tried in court in December.
