A man was shot late Thursday afternoon while he was walking on Ernest-Robitaille Avenue, in the Montreal-North borough.
The event occurred around 5:10 p.m., near the intersection of rue Arthur-Chevrier.
For a reason that remained unknown at the start of the evening, a 43-year-old man was targeted and injured in the “lower body” by “at least one firearm projectile,” said Jeanne Drouin, spokesperson. for the Police Department of the City of Montreal.
The injury sustained by the man is not life-threatening.
No suspects were immediately arrested.
Investigators were expected on site in the early evening to meet witnesses and search for surveillance cameras that could have captured the scene. A dog handler was also expected to go to the neighborhood to help with the investigation.
