Man shot in Montreal North

A man was seriously injured after being hit in the upper body by projectiles from a firearm on Saturday afternoon in the borough of Montreal-North.

The police found the victim unconscious at around 4:15 p.m. on Avenue Pelletier, near rue d’Amos, said the spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), Caroline Chèvrefils.

The man was transported to a hospital and no further details are available on his state of health.

According to initial information, a vehicle with two suspects on board fired at the victim before fleeing north on Avenue Pelletier.

The scene was protected to allow investigators and the forensic technician to determine the circumstances of the event.

Avenue Pelletier was closed between rue d’Amos and boulevard Henri-Bourassa.
