The Sofia District Prosecutor’s Office announced that they are self-reporting and initiating pre-trial proceedings for hooliganism after a video of a man shooting a gun in the tunnel that connects the Lyulin district with the center of Sofia went viral on social networks.
The footage shows a young man getting out of a luxury wedding car and firing shots into the air near a busy public transport stop.
The Metropolitan Directorate of Internal Affairs announced that they have taken steps to identify the perpetrator, bTV reported. The footage follows the movement of a newlywed’s car through the center of Sofia and the underpass at the National Palace of Culture. There’s an ambulance in front, so you can’t see the gunfire, but you can hear it. There is a public transport stop in the tunnel under the NDK, which is extremely busy not only on weekdays, but also on holidays.
Galya Yaneva witnessed what happened while riding the trolley in the subway. “We heard shooting, we started looking around. When we stopped at the bus stop, the shots continued, and two women crouched on the floor for fear that if they were really shot, they would not be hit,” she said.
The wedding limousine is owned by Adel Sahtura. The 28-year-old man lives in the “Gotse Delchev” district of the capital. We decided to ask him if he opened the shooting, and if not, who was the man pulling a gun out of his car in broad daylight.
No one answered the door, and the neighbors told us that it was not actually his home. A reference to the Commercial Register shows that Adel is a partner in a large pharmaceutical manufacturing and trading company owned by his father. The Metropolitan Directorate of Internal Affairs checks what the weapon is and who pulls the trigger – the groom or one of the guests.
