A man who stored more than a hundred kilos of hard drugs in an industrial building in Eindhoven was sentenced to six years in prison. During a search of the building, police found 225,000 ecstasy pills and a large amount of chemical raw materials. The man, who is 42 years old working with the company, then called the police.
The suspect stood trial in Den Bosch court on Monday. The matter came to light when the police carried out an enforcement action in Eindhoven on October 17 last year. A drug dog attacked a car at the business premises, after which the police began an investigation. Inside, police found tens of thousands of pipes and all kinds of chemicals for making synthetic drugs.
Soon one of the company’s employees called the police. He admitted that he had kept the items. The public prosecutor assumes that the man acted independently and that the owners and other employees were not aware of the drugs in the building.
Previously convicted
The man had two previous convictions for drug offenses and was on parole at the time of the investigation. In the words of the public prosecutor, the two previous convictions ‘carry a lot of weight’. “The threat of a prison sentence has not stopped the man from committing crimes again.”
The Public Prosecution Service requested a sentence of six years in prison. In addition, she asks the man, now that he has made the mistake again, to serve the 852 days in prison for which he was previously given a conditional sentence.
