A man in his 40s who repeatedly invaded women’s residences, claiming to listen to women’s voices for sexual gratification, was sentenced to prison.
On the 3rd, Gwangju District Court Criminal Division 9 Judge Lim Young-sil sentenced 42-year-old Mr. A, who was indicted on charges of trespassing, to one year in prison.
In May 2023, Mr. A was indicted on charges of breaking into women’s residences four times, including climbing over the wall of a villa in Dong-gu, Gwangju and looking inside to listen to a woman’s voice.
In 2014, Mr. A, who felt sexual satisfaction from listening to women talking or peeking through windows, repeatedly broke into multi-family homes to secretly listen to women’s voices.
He has been punished twice for similar crimes, and committed the crime again early this year despite receiving a suspended sentence.
Judge Lim ruled, “The nature of the crime is not good considering the circumstances and frequency of the crime, but considering the fact that he has to support his migrant wife and disabled son, I sentence him to one year in prison.”
