Man Sentenced to 18 Years for Shooting Woman in Ukraine and Joining Armed Forces

The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Anton Baydrakov, who shot a woman, to 18 years in prison, Lenta.ru reported.

The man was found guilty of a number of articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, including deprivation of life, illegal imprisonment, undergoing training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activity, attempting to seize power by force and using prohibited means and methods of leadership of war. He will serve his sentence in a maximum security colony.

According to the department, in June 2021, the accused voluntarily enrolled in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and in July he was already sent to training. Since the beginning of December 2021, the convicted is a grenade launcher. It is noted that in March 2022, in the village of Mirni near Mariupol, he illegally detained a woman for several days in an improvised weapon storage room, after which he shot the victim in the head with a machine gun – “for disobedience”. The woman does not survive.
