Man Scammed by Unblocking Service in Lede, Belgium: Forced to Pay 2750 Euros Cash

A man from Lede called the unblocking service in December last year. “The website clearly states that it is active in Aalst, but a day and a half later someone came from Brussels,” he tells his story.

That plumber came alone and worked for 1 hour to fix the problem. Although the unblocking service’s website states ‘prices from 69 euros’, the man was told that he had to pay 4,750 euros in cash, without an estimate being drawn up first.

He refused to pay this sum. “I didn’t have that amount.” This was then reduced to 2750 euros. “I had to pay 2,000 euros with bancontact and 750 euros in cash.”

However, the order form, which our editors were able to view, only states 2,000 euros. In addition, the arrival time was noted, but not the end time of the works.

“The invoice was supposed to be sent later, but I never received it. A typical example of fraud,” says the victim.
