A man was detained after allegedly attacking his partner with a machete and a knife, leaving her seriously injured.
The alleged femicide attempt was recorded near this last Sunday in a house in the San Luis neighborhood, San Lorenzo, Central Department.
Through a call to the National Police, residents of the area alerted to some screams that came from inside the victim’s home, after which a group of agents came.
Upon arriving at the site, they found the woman completely bloody, with a deep cut at the height of the head, left side, produced by a machete approximately 65 centimeters long.
According to the main commissioner Alcides Torres, the affected woman also suffered several cuts in different parts of her body, one on the neck and others on both arms, in the wrist area, which were close to causing the loss of one of her hands. .
The police chief pointed out that a bloody knife was also found at the scene, which would also have been used by the alleged attacker during the event.
The victim was transferred to the General Hospital of San Lorenzo, better known as Calle’i, to be assisted, but due to the seriousness of her condition, she was referred to the Asunción Trauma Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
While the suspect in the alleged femicide attempt was apprehended at the time and, along with the evidence, the police unit was placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry.
The case was left in charge of the tax agent on duty from Penal Unit No. 7 of San Lorenzo, Viviana Riveros.
