Chris Culhane, a resident of Bruree, will participate in the Regeneron Great Limerick Run’s fun run tomorrow with a 32-inch television on his back to raise funds for Cliona’s Foundation, which supports parents of children with life-limiting or chronic complex care needs. During the event, the TV will play Ireland’s Forgotten Families documentary, powered by a UPS unit, to raise financial struggles awareness that families caring for a sick child in the Mid-West face. Chris hopes that this unique idea will highlight the issue and highlight the excellent work of Cliona’s Foundation. The charity has assisted 207 families in the Mid-West region and more than 1,200 nationally since 2008. Cliona’s Co-Founder, Brendan Ring, praised Chris’s unusual idea to raise awareness of the crisis, stating that the cost of living is crippling families who are already devastated by their child’s illness.
