A person is said to have ended up overboard from a tanker outside Kristiansund, reports VG.
The main rescue center HRS received a message from the boat at half past ten.
Operations manager Per Åge Ferstad in the Møre og Romsdal police district tells the newspaper that the man has not been observed since 6 p.m., and the vessel has turned around to look for him, writes NTB.
HRS coordinates the search, in which rescue helicopters and rescue skates participate.
