Man murdered when he met salespeople to buy a quad bike from Facebook Marketplace

A youth was arrested after a 26-year-old Mississippi man was killed while meeting a Facebook Marketplace seller to buy an ATV quad.

On Wednesday June 2nd, Kyle Craig drove from Ocean Springs to Holmes County, Mississippi to meet a seller on Facebook Marketplace so he could buy him the quad.

After Craig’s family didn’t hear from him, they contacted the police and reported him missing, according to Holmes County Sheriff Willie March, who spoke with WAPT.

Investigators said Craig carried a large sum of money to the meeting and that they believed he was robbed and fatally shot after his body was found nearby with multiple gunshot wounds.

The sheriff’s department has so far arrested one in the incident, a teenage boy, but is still looking for a second suspect, Montavious Landfair, who is allegedly on the run. March told WAPT that several other people could be charged as an accessory to murder.

March asked anyone with information on Landfair’s whereabouts or any other information relating to Craig’s murder to contact the Holmes County Sheriff’s Department.

A GoFundMe page was set up Monday by a family member of Craig’s to support his wife Shelbie and one-year-old son Brantley.

“I asked this community to come together and give something back to the great, hard-working man who was taken from this earth far too early,” wrote organizer Morgan Craig.

“All donations go direct to Shelbie and Brantley. I promise that our family’s condolences will not go unnoticed. We’re trying to find peace in a world without Kyle. I know justice is served. Please keep praying for our families, especially Brantley and Shelbie. “

At the time of writing, the fundraiser raised $ 3,979 out of a $ 10,000 goal and the site has been active for a little over a day.

In April, a Pennsylvania woman was stabbed to death by a seller on Facebook marketplace who claimed he was selling a refrigerator.

Joshua Gorgone, 26, who listed the refrigerator on Facebook Marketplace, was arrested after the body of Denise Williams, 54, was found in his home with multiple stab wounds, according to Fox, so that’s a quick recap.
