Man missed after personal watercraft rollover in Vestland – VG

In the fourth hour, the rescue crews are looking for a man who disappeared after a jet ski accident in Knarvik on Friday.

There were two men sitting together on the jet ski when things went wrong in the Salhusfjord near Knarvik north of Bergen on Friday.

A man recovered quickly, while a man in his 20s is still missing. The search operation is now underway in the fourth hour.

– The search for the missing person is in full swing, says rescue leader Per Hognaland in the Main Rescue Center South Norway to VG.

At 23:00 on Friday night, the police state that no finds have been made, and that the search will continue through the night.

SEARCHING IN WATER: There are several rescue vessels out in the fjord, as well as a number of civilian boats.

HRS has organized the search around specific areas in the fjord, and receives a lot of help from other agencies.

All emergency services, in addition to the lifeboat, the Armed Forces, the Red Cross and a number of civilians are participating in the search. A rescue helicopter from Florø has also been deployed.

The man who was rescued ashore was picked up by civilian boats. He was transported to Haukeland University Hospital, and was conscious when he was taken by ambulance.

According to the reports, there will be little electricity in the area. Police say the rollover happened not far from land.

– There were several witnesses to the incident. It is still unclear what caused the rollover, and it took place not far from Nordhordlandsbrua.

Both are men in their 20s, and both are locals in Nordhordland.
