An American man was arrested this week after leaving his three children of four, five, and seven years old alone at home to travel to a hotel where he wanted to have sex with a fourteen-year-old child, US media report Sunday.
The 37-year-old Robert Michael Berry thought he had made a sex appointment with a fourteen-year-old via the Skout dating app. However, it turned out not to exist: a detective had created the account and arrested Berry upon his arrival at the Holiday Inn hotel.
Because he left his children behind at home, Berry is charged with, among other things, neglect of children. He is also suspected of using a cell phone illegally and traveling to meet a minor.
