At 15:42 on Thursday afternoon, SOS was notified of a traffic accident at Trafikplats Jung, on the E20 outside Lidköping.
– But the emergency services understand quickly that this could be about something else and they found a man who is bleeding from his head, says Hans-Jörgen Ostler, a press spokesman for the police.
According to the police, the violence against the man must have been unleashed after two drivers pushed each other in traffic in some way.
– And it must have ended with the suspect now crossing the road and then getting out of the car and hitting the complainant. It is said that he suffered serious injuries and from time to time was unconscious, says Hans-Jörgen Ostler.
As of 7 p.m., the suspect had not yet been found. According to the police, he left the scene in a vehicle after the attack.
The man who was hit is now being treated in hospital, where he was taken by ambulance in the afternoon.
– I don’t have an updated injury status, but now it’s the health care system that has that information, says Hans-Jörgen Ostler.
He does not want to go in as the police are looking for the man who is suspected of being behind the serious attack.
