A man named Faisal alias FS (22) was killed by a man named Herman alias HL (60) along with his two children, namely MH (23) and HM (28). It is known that this case was triggered by polyandry where Faisal married a woman with the initials HL who was around 52-53 years old.
“For this suspect, HL, HM and MH are from the same house. HL is the parent, while MH and HM are HL’s biological children,” said Gowa Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Bahtiar during a press conference at the South Sulawesi Regional Police Headquarters, as reported by detikSulselSaturday (7/10/2023).
The murder incident occurred in Panjuang Hamlet, West Bajeng District, Gowa on Sunday (1/10) at around 01.18 WITA. Bahtiar said that this murder involved colleagues of HL’s children, namely men with the initials I (18) and S (19) who participated in the murder. Bahtiar continued, the five perpetrators also killed two members of the FS family, namely AB (60) and SU (40).
Bahtiar explained that this murder was masterminded by Herman HL, who was jealous because his wife had an unregistered marriage with the victim FS. Whereas previously, HL himself had allowed his wife to remarry. Herman and his wife are also said to have separated.
However, as time went on, HL became jealous of his wife’s relationship with Faisal. It was this feeling of hurt that then triggered HL to commit murder with the help of five other perpetrators.
“The main perpetrator knew (his wife remarried), even with his own consent, that polyandry had occurred all this time. But now he just felt jealous, so he became hurt and agreed to carry out the attack,” he said.
