In Lokeren, East Flanders, a 47-year-old man died in an explosion of a shell.

The incident happened around 2:20 pm in the Doorslaardam in Lokeren. The explosion took place behind a house.
The victim tried to open the jumping gear, which he allegedly found in the Ardennes, in the garden with a grinding wheel.
The emergency services arrived on the scene, but the man was no longer able to help. The local police and the public prosecutor’s office have been informed of the facts.
Everything points to an accidental cause, says the public prosecutor’s office. The explosion was particularly violent and the jumping gear pierced the rear facade of the house.
