For no apparent reason, a man was injured after being pushed onto the subway tracks at Penn Station in Manhattan.
The attack occurred this Sunday around 5:00 in the afternoon on the platform of the A/C/E lines at the aforementioned station.
According to police information, the 64-year-old victim was checking his cell phone when a subject approached and kicked him, making him fall on the train tracks.
The man was helped back to the platform by other passengers, however, due to the fall he suffered leg injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
The alleged perpetrator managed to escape after the attack.
Attacks on the subway increase
This incident adds to a series of criminal acts that have occurred on the subway.
On Friday, March 1, a 61-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen when he was inside a car on the 4 train.
During February, two Hispanics died in incidents on the subway.
According to official data, in the first two months of 2023, 310 criminal acts were recorded on the subway, the figure rose 13% in 2024, with 351 incidents reported.

The woman commented that both young people were returning from dinner. The cousin was talking on the phone with his girlfriend when the impact occurred. The teenager’s girlfriend called her mother who immediately ran to the scene, where she observed the car practically destroyed.

Authorities have not confirmed the information, but witnesses to the accident told Univision that the driver was detained and two other passengers fled the accident.
