Monday afternoon, “a violent altercation opposed two groups of young men”, some from the district of La Roseraie in Angers, the others from the neighboring town of Trélazé, indicated in a press release the public prosecutor of Angers, Eric Bouillard. A person had been injured and the police had intervened but no complaint had been filed.
The clashes had resumed in the early evening near the La Roseraie district. A young person from the neighborhood had been chased by two others from Trélazé already involved in the fight of the afternoon and carrying at least one bladed weapon, according to Mr. Bouillard. During this new altercation, one of the two attackers had “seriously” injured the young man being pursued, whose state of health no longer caused concern on Wednesday evening.

But, according to the first elements of the investigation, it appears that the attacker also “by mistake” struck the young man who accompanied him, also seriously injuring him. The latter, aged 18, succumbed to his injuries, Éric Bouillard announced Thursday. The day before, while his second victim was still alive, the respondent had been indicted for aggravated violence, a leader who could be requalified after death.
