Man in Zandvoort drives into police officers twice

A 29-year-old man ran into police officers twice on the Zandvoort boulevard last night. The officers managed to avoid him and were unharmed.

Officers received a report because the man pelted enforcers with beer bottles from his car. When officers tried to address him, he started the engine and backed up towards them. The officers then used pepper spray, after which the man tried to drive into them again at full throttle.

The suspect eventually collided with a parked police car, after which the officers removed him from the car. The man was arrested and taken to the police station.

Both the man’s car and the police car were badly damaged and were towed away. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
