Authorities are searching for a man who escaped while in custody, New York City Police said.
According to the police report, at about 8:30 am, the 21-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with a robbery in Brooklyn.
The prisoner, the report says, complained of chest pains and was transported by paramedics to the hospital’s emergency room. Brookdale , located at 1 Brookdale Plaza. He escaped from the scene while being treated.
Authorities confirmed that the individual was handcuffed in the back at the time and was able to bring his hands forward and walk out of the hospital and fled in an unknown direction.
The suspect is identified as Akeem Williams, 21, and was last seen handcuffed, shirtless, shoeless and wearing white pants.
