Update from April 11, 2023, 3:20 p.m.: Suspect is silent – how was the woman killed?
Three weeks after the violent death of a mother of four in Lower Franconia, the suspected husband has not yet commented on the crime. However, he was still an urgent suspect and was in custody for manslaughter, the Würzburg public prosecutor said on Tuesday. The investigators initially did not want to reveal how the 35-year-old should have killed his wife in Marktheidenfeld (Main-Spessart district). The man’s possible motive will be further investigated.
The couple was found seriously injured in their shared apartment on March 21 after a loud argument. The 33-year-old died a little later in the hospital, the suspect survived. It has not yet been announced whether the man injured himself. The couple’s four children were taken into the care of the youth welfare office.
Update from March 23, 2023, 3 p.m.: The body was autopsied – the cause of death has been determined

As previously reported, a witness at the police operations center in Lower Franconia reported a loud family dispute. Officers from the Marktheidenfeld Police Inspectorate and numerous support forces from surrounding departments were quickly on site. In the family’s apartment, the emergency services found two seriously injured people. Both injured people, a 33-year-old woman and her 35-year-old husband, received medical treatment at the scene from emergency doctors and were then taken to hospitals by the ambulance service. The 33-year-old succumbed to her injuries in hospital a short time later.
A one year old childwhich was in the apartment at the time of the altercation, as well as the three other children of the couple, handed over to the care of the youth welfare office.
The Würzburg Criminal Police Department is conducting extensive investigations into the background and the circumstances of the dispute and the possible instruments used in the crime. According to the current state of knowledge, the injuries were caused by a pointed object taught.
By order of the public prosecutor’s office, the body of the wife was autopsied to clarify what happened on Wednesday. Accordingly, the violence on the woman had led to her death. The public prosecutor’s office in Würzburg is currently examining whether an arrest warrant will be issued against the arrested person.

One-year-old child during arguments in the apartment – youth welfare office takes care of three other children

For the extensive emergency medical measures, Luitpoldstraße was temporarily closed to traffic blocked. The fire brigade and the THW supported the rescue and recovery measures. Also was the support group of the police headquarters in Lower Franconia and set up a contact point for relatives and affected emergency services in the town hall.
In the meantime, the Würzburg criminal police took over the investigation into the background to the dispute.
