Man in Bekasi Faces up to 15 Years in Prison for Raping and Killing Baby Son

AT (45), man in Branchbungin, Regency Bekasi, has the heart to rape her stepson and then kills the baby she raped. AT faces up to 15 years in prison.

AT was charged with multiple articles. First, there is article 80 paragraph 3 of RI Law No. 35 of 2014 regarding amendments
RI Law No. 23 of 2002 concerning violence against minors.

“In the event that the child as referred to in paragraph (2) dies, the perpetrator shall be punished with imprisonment for a maximum of 15 years and/or a fine of up to Rp. 200,000,000,” said Kapolres Metro Bekasi Kombes Twedi Aditya Bennyahdi in a statement, Wednesday (5/5). 4/2023).

Then regarding the sexual intercourse case, AT was charged with Article 81 paragraph 3 of RI Law No. 17 of 2016 concerning the establishment of a government regulation in lieu of Law No. 1 of 2016 concerning the second amendment to RI Law No. 2002 concerning child protection.

“In the event that the crime referred to in paragraph (1) is committed by parents, guardians, babysitters, educators, or educational staff, then they are subject to imprisonment for 15 years plus 1/3 of the criminal penalties referred to in paragraph (1),” said Twedi.

Chronology

The perpetrator was known to have raped the victim since 1 year ago. Then the victim gave birth to a baby from the rape of the perpetrator on Saturday (25/3) at 18.00 WIB.

“A baby boy was born from the victim’s womb in the bathroom of the rented house,” said Twedi.

The victim then called his parents. The perpetrator then met the victim in the bathroom. At that time, the newborn was in a state of crying.

“Because the perpetrator panicked when he heard the baby’s cry and was afraid that if his disgrace was discovered, the perpetrator immediately smothered the baby using a cloth and then punched him 4-5 times on the face until the baby could no longer make a sound,” said Twedi.

The baby was then placed near the bucket and covered with a cloth. The victim and her baby were taken by the perpetrator to a clinic.

“After knowing that the baby had died then the perpetrator buried it,” added Twedi.
