Man Rescued from Textile Container in Ostrava
Last week, an incident occurred on Rudná Street in the Zábřeh district of Ostrava. A patrol of the municipal police noticed a bicycle leaning against a collection container. As the guards approached, they heard a noise coming from the textile container.
“They knocked on the container, and a male voice responded from inside. He explained that he had climbed inside to find suitable decent clothing, but the folding doors closed, and he couldn’t get out. And all of this happened about three hours ago,” said Jindřich Machů, spokesperson for the Ostrava Municipal Police.
The guards called the firefighters, who helped the 41-year-old man out. He was luckier than some others who got stuck in the doors and, for example, suffocated.
“Given the circumstances of the case, the guards fined the man and explained the possible risks of his actions,” Machů added.
He reiterated that the guards consider the attempt to enter containers for electronic waste or textiles very dangerous. In addition to being unauthorized entry, these people are putting themselves at significant risk.
What were the potential risks associated with the man’s actions of climbing inside the textile container?

It all began when a vigilant patrol of the municipal police noticed a bicycle leaning against a collection container. Curiosity piqued, they cautiously approached the container and were startled by a noise emanating from within. To their surprise, a male voice responded when they knocked on the container.
