Man Gets 20 Years For Rape And Attempted To Kill Girlfriend | Inland

The man took the woman from a cafe to his home that night after they had talked about their relationship earlier in the evening. In his home, the suspect allegedly raped the woman and forced her to perform sexual acts on herself. He filmed it with his phone.

At one point she was allowed to get her phone out of her car. The man followed, armed with a knife and a pistol to keep her from fleeing. The woman tried to run anyway, but the man caught up to her and cut her neck and face. He brought her back into his house, where he tried to strangle her again. Local residents had heard the woman scream and alerted the police.

The man is said to have said to the police that he had murdered the woman. The officers found the victim in a pool of blood. According to behavioral experts, the man is “at most diminished accountability.” That is why the court has reduced the prison sentence by one year.
