Man from Eindhoven Supplying Suicide Powder Agent X to Participants in Arnhem Court Case

Alex Schot from Eindhoven has supplied the suicide powder Agent X to at least one of the seven women and men standing before the court in Arnhem this week. One of them, an 80-year-old man from Haarlem, stated this on the first day of the hearing. He and the six other suspects are members of the Last Will Cooperative (CLW), which, according to the Public Prosecution Service (OM), is a criminal organization.

Schot was sentenced last year to 3.5 years in prison, of which 1.5 years is conditional, for the sale of Drug X. The 30-year-old Eindhove resident sold the drug at least 1,600 times, after which ten people died. It was the first legal case in our country that revolved around Drug X.

In the coming week, seven people will appear in court in Arnhem, because they are also accused of supplying the powder on behalf of CLW. This drug is used by people who want to end their lives.

‘Assisted suicide’
Loek de L. is an 80-year-old Haarlem resident who spoke on the first day of the hearing. He is one of two suspects who have been charged with actually providing drug X. The Public Prosecution Service sees this as assisted suicide and that is punishable. According to justice and police, De L. provided approximately 640 portions of the powder. De L. does not want to confirm this number. He did say that Schot initially supplied him with powders and later capsules, ‘in a ready-made package with the anti-emetic agent.’

The Haarlemmer sold the drug, among other things, during living room conversations or to people who had attended these group sessions, he told the court. “Those people then received my telephone number. Then I had a personal conversation with them and delivery could be made if necessary.”L.

Extensive leaflet
People who were seriously interested had to be members of the CLW. De L. then gave them the choice of picking up the drug or having it delivered personally or by post. They received an anti-emetic and an extensive leaflet of nine A4 pages. On July 26, 2021, the police raided the Haarlemmer’s house. The suspect told the judges that he wanted to stop his practice just the day before.

Wim van Dijk later in court
Wim van Dijk is not among the seven suspects. This psychologist from Den Bosch was first accused of membership of a criminal organization, but the Public Prosecution Service was unable to substantiate this. Later this year he will appear in court in Den Bosch where he will have to answer for violating the Medicines Act.

The criminal case will continue on Tuesday with the discussion of the files of the other suspects. The demands in the case against the seven suspects are expected to be pronounced on Monday, April 15. The court hopes to make a ruling on July 2.
