Police have started a murder investigation after a man in his 50s was found dead at an address in Lørenskog on Sunday night.

– A suspected perpetrator has been arrested and charged with murder, confirms police attorney in the Eastern police district, John Skarpeid, to VG.
He does not want to disclose the gender of the arrested person.
On Sunday night, the police were notified by AMK about a man who is said to have been subjected to a serious incident of violence at an address at Fjellhamar in Lørenskog. A few minutes later, the police are notified that the man was dead.
– We are beginning to form a picture of the course of events. We have taken initial interrogations of several people in connection with the incident, says Skarpeid.
The deceased is a foreign national in his 50s.

The suspected perpetrator was arrested on Sunday night, the police further inform. The apprehended person has not yet been appointed a defense counsel.
Skarpeid does not wish to comment further on the circumstances surrounding the alleged murder, nor whether there is any relationship between the deceased and the alleged perpetrator.
The police have started a technical and tactical investigation to further clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident. Skarpeid states that they are working to notify the relatives, and that this requires some work as the man is a foreign citizen.
A forensic examination of the deceased has also been requested – something the police assume will happen during Monday or early this week.
– For the sake of the initial and ongoing investigation, the police have no further information to give about the incident now, they state in the press release.
